Welcome to Greenside Animal Hospital

Greenside Animal Hospital is the prominent veterinary practice on the corner of Barry Hertzog Avenue and Muirfield Road in Greenside, Johannesburg. Our practice with the two big dogs in front of the building is hard to miss! We welcome ALL pets and encourage you to bring each of your pets for a check-up once a year.

If we do not have the expertise in house to attend to any special species or breed of animal you may have, we will refer you to the best specialists in that particular area of animal care.

Our Services

Vaccinations / General check-up

General health check-up (monthly or yearly) with all the necessary vaccinations to protect against life-threatening viruses.

Spay & Neuter

Spay and neuter dogs and cats from 6 months and onwards to prevent unwanted reproduction and protect against cancers, etc.

Dental

Regular dental check-ups for good pet oral health. Scaling and polishing under anaesthesia. Also includes necessary tooth extractions.

X-Rays & Ultrasound

Our digital x-ray machine and ultrasonography technology affords us an inside look for quick diagnosis of many ailments, of which the results can be emailed to you.

The vets and all the assistants and admin staff at Greenside Animal Hospital are phenomenal. Our dog was bitten by a night adder outside of town on a Sunday, and we phoned their emergency number. Dr Suzette was able to meet us there and treat him quickly. He ended up staying for more than a week as they nursed him back to health. Between her and all the other vets, they took such good care of him and were so compassionate towards him and us. I'm not sure he would have survived if they hadn't treated him so well and kept such a close eye on him. Thank you to everyone on the team for being so professional, supportive and knowledgeable!

Great vet which takes not only their clients but the pets into consideration. I love the fact that this practice has a seperate waiting area for cats and dogs, it definitely minimized the stress of my sick kitty. Receptionists are very friendly and they are able to give you an estimate of the pricing before you pay and handle payments in a very caring and considerate way. The other staff who assist within in the practice and the handlers are also all very helpful and friendly. Vet definitely takes your concerns to heart and from experience also the most budget friendly vet while not skimping on quality service! One of the best veterinary practices I have personally come across and will highly recommend!
